General Anesthesia
You must give our office 48 hours’ notice if you wish to switch from general anesthesia to local anesthesia, or there will be a charge of $500.
Do not eat or drink anything after midnight the night before your surgery! This includes water.
If your appointment is scheduled after 12:00 noon, you may have a light breakfast at 6:30 a.m. (juice and toast) but nothing afterward. This includes water.
An adult must accompany you to your appointment and must be able to wait for you during surgery in our office and then drive you home. It is also important that someone is home with you for at least 10–15 hours following surgery.
Please do not wear earrings, contact lenses, jewelry, or nail polish to your appointment. Please wear tennis shoes (no flip-flops, sandals, or slippers) and a short-sleeved shirt so that we may use the monitoring devices on your arm.
Local Anesthesia
You may eat and drink prior to your appointment.
All Patients
Because of sterility and limited space, family members will NOT be allowed in the surgery room.
Have some liquids and soft foods around for the first few days, such as Gatorade®, lukewarm soups, yogurt, scrambled eggs, etc.
If you develop a cold, temperature, or any medical problems, please notify the office immediately. It may be necessary to reschedule your appointment.
If you need to reschedule or cancel a surgery appointment, please give us at least 48 hours’ notice to avoid a $100 missed-appointment fee. Your missed appointment affects many people.
