A full-arch restoration procedure is a life-changing procedure recommended for patients who need a majority or all their teeth replaced. At Oral & Facial Surgery of New Mexico, our oral surgeon, Dr. Bryce Heiner, will collaborate with your primary dentist to complete this treatment in as little as one to two surgical appointments. Dr. Heiner can perform a full-arch procedure at any of our office locations in Las Cruces, NM, and Roswell, NM.
A full-arch restoration treatment is the most successful procedure for permanently replacing an entire upper or lower arch of teeth. The treatment relies on dental implants as anchors, which support a full fixed denture that is custom designed to look exactly like your natural teeth. The dental implants are medical-grade titanium posts that are inserted directly into the jaw bone to create a stable and supportive foundation for your prosthetic teeth.
The Full-Arch Restoration Procedure
After you have had your initial consultation and your treatment and anesthesia options have been explained to you, you will return on your scheduled date for your first surgical appointment. During this appointment, Dr. Heiner will remove any teeth remaining in the arch before placing the dental implants into your jaw bone. Dental implants are specially designed to mimic the exact anatomy of your natural teeth, which means they restore your teeth all the way down to the roots. This unique design helps them integrate with your bone, allowing them to preserve the health of your jaw while also creating an extremely sturdy foundation for your prosthetic teeth. After placing the implants, Dr. Heiner will cover them up, and you will be sent home to recover. In most cases, you will receive a temporary prosthesis so you can start showing off your new smile right away. Over the new few months, your new implants will fuse with your jaw while your restorative dentist creates your new set of permanent teeth.
Once your implants have completely healed, you will return to have your permanent teeth attached. The implants’ integration with your jaw ensures that once your teeth are attached, you will not have to worry about them needing replacement after several years. In addition, the stable support that dental implants provide mean you can eat whatever foods you like, including steak, apples, and corn on the cob. Many of our patients report that once their permanent teeth have been placed, they forget that they aren’t their natural teeth.
How do I know if I need a full-arch restoration treatment?
If you are missing many or all your teeth, you may be the perfect candidate for a full-arch restoration. However, the only way to know for sure if you qualify for this life-changing treatment is to visit an oral surgeon. Oral & Facial Surgery of New Mexico has two convenient locations in Las Cruces, NM, and Roswell, NM, and Dr. Heiner has extensive experience performing full-arch restorations.
A full-arch restoration is a much more beneficial and permanent solution to extensive tooth loss than traditional dentures and a more cost-effective solution than individual dental implants. We strongly encourage you to contact one our offices to schedule a consultation and learn more about whether full-arch restoration is right for you.
